About NSS

Built Around a Real Problem

Nexus Securus Systems LLC is a New York-based advanced materials technology company developing patent-pending adaptive electro-optical glazing. The platform senses light, heat, and solar conditions and modulates automatically, with no mechanical systems.

The entry market is transit and commercial fleet safety, where glare is a documented liability for operators. Glare is a factor in roughly 1 in 4 vehicle crashes, and there is no passive adaptive solution on the market. Commercial real estate and aerospace follow from the same platform.

NSS is actively pursuing grants, pilot partnerships, and strategic relationships built on technical rigor and long-term IP strategy.

How It Works

Advanced Material Technology

NSS is developing advanced material-based tint systems engineered to respond dynamically to light and heat conditions. The technology operates at the material level, embedded in or applied to glass and film surfaces, with no mechanical systems and no structural modification required.

01
Sense
Advanced material properties detect ambient light levels, solar intensity, and thermal conditions continuously and in real time.
02
Respond
Material-level electro-optical elements modulate automatically in response to environmental conditions or direct user input.
03
Adapt
The system dynamically manages light transmission, solar heat gain, glare, and visibility, simultaneously and without mechanical intervention.
04
Deliver
The result is a safer, more comfortable, and more energy-efficient environment, engineered at the material level, experienced at the human level.

Material Science

Material-Level Adaptive Tint

Traditional window tint is static, blocking a fixed percentage of light regardless of conditions. NSS technology embeds electro-optical elements directly into the film or glass substrate. When voltage is applied or environmental thresholds are crossed, the material itself responds, modulating how much light and heat passes through. The response is multi-stimulus, driven by light, heat, and solar load together rather than a single input.

Traditional Tint

Fixed transmission. No environmental response. No user control. Blocks the same amount of light at dawn as it does at noon. Provides no dynamic energy management and cannot adapt to changing conditions.

NSS Adaptive Tint

Dynamic light transmission. Real-time environmental response. Automatic and manual control modes. Modulates continuously based on solar intensity, heat load, and occupant preference, without mechanical systems or structural modification.

The result is a window that responds like a living system, darker when solar intensity is high, clearer when conditions change, and always under the occupant's control. No mechanical parts. No structural modification. Engineered at the material level, experienced at the human level.

Why It Is Defensible

Most adaptive glazing reacts to a single trigger or depends on mechanical systems. NSS works at the material level across multiple inputs, and that is what makes it both hard to replicate and broadly applicable.

Multi-Stimulus Response
The material responds to light, heat, and solar load together, not one input alone. That behavior is difficult to achieve at the material level.
One Platform, Three Markets
The same materials foundation serves transit and fleet, commercial real estate, and aerospace. The provisional patent covers all three applications.
No Mechanical Systems
Nothing to motorize, switch, or maintain. The response lives in the material itself, which is what makes it retrofit-ready.

The same conditions. Two different responses. Fixed tint holds one value all day. NSS adaptive glazing modulates as glare and solar load change, on a single platform configured for different environments.

Where We Are

NSS is currently in active prototype development. The technical architecture is established, the materials approach is defined, and the provisional patent protecting the core adaptive glazing mechanism was filed in November 2025. Prototype build and initial substrate testing are the current operational focus, with controlled performance testing targeted for Q3 2026.

Where We Operate

Three Markets. One Platform.

One materials platform serves three markets. NSS leads with transit and commercial fleet safety as the entry market, then expands to commercial real estate and aerospace. The technology does not have to be rebuilt for each.

01  /  Entry Market
Transit & Commercial Fleet

Glare is a documented safety and liability exposure for transit authorities and fleet operators. NSS reduces it automatically, with no driver action and no structural modification. Retrofit-compatible across the fleet. This is the beachhead.

Transit  ·  Fleet  ·  Safety & Risk
02  /  Expansion
Commercial Real Estate

Buildings are among the largest energy consumers on earth. NSS glazing reduces solar heat gain, cuts HVAC load, and improves occupant comfort without structural change.

Office  ·  Mixed-Use  ·  Government
03  /  Long-Horizon
Aerospace

Cabin glazing and cockpit environments demand the highest standards for light management. NSS addresses aerospace-grade requirements with adaptive, on-demand tint control.

Aviation  ·  Defense Adjacent  ·  Spacecraft
Safety
Reduces glare-related risk for drivers, pilots, and operators
Efficiency
Lowers energy use by managing solar heat gain
Comfort
Improves occupant experience without mechanical systems
Control
Automatic response or manual user input, on demand
Why Now

The conditions favoring adaptive glazing are converging across all three markets.

Fleet Safety & Liability
Operators carry rising exposure for glare-related incidents across transit and commercial fleets
Energy Codes Tightening
Buildings must perform, and solar heat gain through glazing is a primary HVAC load driver
ESG Retrofit Demand
Compliance pressure is driving adaptive retrofit demand across commercial real estate
Aerospace Modernization
Cabin and cockpit upgrade programs are accelerating demand for advanced glazing
